It was a day full of smiling faces and loads of laughs at the Chapter’s annual golf tournament. Golfers and sponsors were blessed with great weather and facilities. In addition to the wonderful dinner and usual awarding of prize winners and draws, there was a very spirited and competitive live auction to help raise funds for Special Olympics Barrie. It was a touching moment for all in attendance when we heard from the Special Olympics athletes who were on hand to relate how funds raised at events like this help them to continue their quest to be the best in their chosen sports. Incoming President Sheri Turner presented an initial cheque for $5000 to Special Olympics Barrie. Thanks to the organizing team, the golfers, sponsors and of course, the staff from Hawk Ridge.
